TicketSync Purchase Policy
Last updated: 31 July 2026
This Purchase Policy governs all ticket purchases made through TicketSync, whether via our website, mobile app, or a TicketSync-powered checkout embedded on an Event Organizer's site. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to this policy in addition to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. Who You're Buying From
TicketSync is a ticketing platform. Tickets are sold on behalf of the Event Organizer, who is responsible for the event itself (line-up, schedule, venue, cancellations). TicketSync is responsible for the purchase, delivery, and account experience. The Event Organizer for each event is shown at checkout before you complete your purchase.
2. Order Confirmation
Every completed purchase is confirmed by:
- An on-screen confirmation with an order number
- A confirmation email/SMS containing your order details and ticket delivery information
Please check your order immediately — names, dates, quantities, and seat/section selections cannot always be changed after purchase. Contact support right away if something looks wrong.
3. Pricing and Fees
- Ticket prices are set by the Event Organizer.
- TicketSync may add a service fee and, where applicable, a delivery fee, both disclosed and itemized before you confirm payment.
- All prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.
- Dynamic pricing (where prices may rise or fall based on demand) will be clearly labelled on the event listing if used.
4. Accepted Payment Methods
We accept card payments and Instant EFT via Paystack. Payment is processed by our third-party payment provider; TicketSync does not store your full card details. All sales are subject to fraud and risk screening, and we reserve the right to cancel or hold orders that fail verification.
5. All Sales Are Final (Refunds & Exchanges)
As a general rule, all ticket sales are final. TicketSync does not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind. Exceptions:
- Event cancellation: If an event is cancelled outright and not rescheduled, you will be offered a refund of the ticket price (service fees may be non-refundable, as disclosed at purchase) or, at the Organizer's discretion, credit toward a future event.
- Event postponement/rescheduling: Your ticket generally remains valid for the new date. If you cannot attend the new date, refund eligibility depends on the Event Organizer's policy, which will be communicated to you.
- Material event changes: Significant changes (e.g., headline act cancellation, venue change to a materially different location) may qualify for a refund at the Organizer's discretion, in line with applicable consumer protection law.
- Faulty/duplicate transactions: If you were charged in error or twice for the same order, contact support for correction.
- Consumer protection law: Nothing in this policy limits any statutory right to a refund you may have under the Consumer Protection Act (South Africa) or equivalent local law.
Refunds, where approved, are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days.
6. Ticket Transfers and Resale
- Tickets may be transferred to another person via the TicketSync app/account where the Event Organizer allows transfers.
- Unauthorized resale or resale above face value may be prohibited by the Event Organizer or by local anti-scalping law, and TicketSync reserves the right to cancel tickets suspected of being resold in violation of these terms, without refund.
- Only use TicketSync's official transfer/resale feature (where enabled) or Organizer-approved channels. TicketSync is not responsible for tickets bought outside our platform (e.g., private resale, unofficial marketplaces, or social media) and cannot guarantee their validity.
7. Ticket Delivery
Tickets may be delivered as:
- Mobile/e-tickets (QR/barcode in-app or by email) — the standard method
- Mobile wallet passes (Apple/Google Wallet), where supported
- Print-at-home, where enabled by the Organizer
- Physical/box-office collection, for select venues
You are responsible for keeping your ticket/QR code secure. A ticket is valid for the first scan at the venue — sharing screenshots or forwarding tickets through unofficial channels can result in someone else gaining entry ahead of you.
8. Event Entry Requirements
- You may be required to present valid photo ID matching the ticket holder's name, particularly for age-restricted or named-ticket events.
- Age-restricted events require proof of age at entry; tickets purchased without meeting the age requirement will be refused entry without refund.
- Entry may be refused for tickets suspected of fraud, unauthorized resale, or duplication.
- Venue-specific rules (bag policies, prohibited items, re-entry rules) are set by the Event Organizer/venue and published on the event listing.
9. Order Limits and Cancellation for Breach
TicketSync and Event Organizers may set a maximum number of tickets per person/household per event to ensure fair access. We reserve the right to cancel orders that:
- Exceed stated limits (including orders split across multiple accounts/cards to circumvent limits)
- Are placed using bots or automated purchasing tools
- Are linked to fraudulent payment activity
10. Add-Ons (Merchandise, Parking, Insurance)
Add-ons purchased alongside tickets are subject to the same refund principles above unless a specific add-on provider (e.g., a ticket insurance underwriter) has its own separate terms, which will be presented to you at the point of purchase.
11. Force Majeure
TicketSync and Event Organizers are not liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control (e.g., natural disaster, extreme weather, war, government action, pandemic-related restrictions). In such cases, the Event Organizer's cancellation/postponement policy (Section 5) applies.
12. Complaints and Disputes
If you have an issue with an order, contact TicketSync Support first at info@ticketsync.co.za with your order number. If your complaint concerns the event itself rather than the purchase (e.g., show quality, artist conduct), we will refer you to the Event Organizer, who is responsible for the event experience.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Purchase Policy from time to time. Changes will apply to purchases made after the updated policy is posted; your original purchase remains governed by the policy in effect at the time of purchase.
